'Growing up on the Lower East Side showed me the meaning of the phrase âÇÖThe Melting Pot.âÇÖ It was the only place in New York where you could find good soul food, Chinese food, pizza, or knish in the same neighborhood.' This is the authorâÇÖs first book, and he is working on the sequel. 'I wanted to tell a story of life in New York during the sixties, seventies, and eighties. The tremendous political and scientific advances that all Americans endured were incredible. It was an incredible era to grow up in and I felt it was being overlooked.'
