Sinopsis

''The Lion and the Water-Wagtail'' is a satirical poem written by Castigator in 1809. The poem is divided into three cantos and is written in the style of a mock heroic poem. The story follows the Lion, who is depicted as a powerful and majestic creature, as he encounters the Water-Wagtail, a small and insignificant bird. The Water-Wagtail, however, is not intimidated by the Lion and instead mocks and taunts him. The Lion, frustrated by the Water-Wagtail?s behavior, tries to attack him but is repeatedly foiled by the bird?s quick movements and clever tactics. The poem is a commentary on the nature of power and the importance of wit and intelligence in overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Castigator?s use of satire and humor makes ''The Lion and the Water-Wagtail'' an entertaining and thought-provoking read. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
