Sinopsis

I want to feel I am making a difference at work. For me, developing and implementing a user-centred intranet became a challenge for influencing the organisational culture where I worked. Being in a management role, I undertook management interventions to support the project. During the project, I discovered a sub-role for myself - internal communication management. This role often exists informally if at all. Yet, I came to believe that internal communication is a vital aspect of organisational culture where there is a fast pace of change. I also came to embrace a networked organisational paradigm which encourages internal networking and employee participation. No matter what role you are in, whether Management, IT or New Media, I hope you will become more informed about these aspects of organi¡sational culture, internal communication technology and organisa¡tional practices that relate to them. I also hope you will use this knowledge to positively influence your organisational culture.
