Sinopsis

Artichoke breeding aims to improve head quality and yield characteristics in order to meet consumer market demands. To this end, the literature cites different breeding methodologies for the crop, including recurrent phenotypic selection, a methodology that consists of repeating the same procedures cycle after selection cycle, aiming to increase the frequency of alleles favorable to the characteristics of selective interest.
