Sinopsis

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is an ancient plant whose active ingredient, curcumin, is attracting growing interest in gastroenterology for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. Its therapeutic potential is being particularly studied in the management of common digestive disorders.Clinical studies indicate that curcumin can provide significant benefit in relieving the symptoms of functional dyspepsia. Its role as an adjuvant to conventional HP eradication therapies is also promising, potentially potentiating their efficacy. On the other hand, its use in GERD requires a more nuanced approach: while it may relieve mild forms, it is inadvisable in severe or erosive cases. Conclusion: Turmeric represents an interesting complementary option, whose use must be adapted to each clinical situation.
